Our sweet “P” just turned 5 and similar to last year she started daydreaming about her party months in advance. My party planning obsession has clearly rubbed off on my girls over the years as they now know the first step in planning is to choose a theme. Continue reading
While trolling the local dollar store for goodies to keep the kids entertained on our upcoming road trip I came across these animal flash cards. One is all about Animal Sounds and the other Animal Actions. Continue reading
On a hot summer day there is little more refreshing than a juicy slice of watermelon. This sweet and slurp-a-licious fruit with its pretty contrast of pinks and greens has inspired all sorts of decor and fashion finds.
Next up on the boomerang trend roundup is the positively perky… pineapple.
This widely recognized symbol of hospitality and warmth continues to make its way into design and decor and for good reason. They are just so darn fun!
Here are a few of my favourite finds… Continue reading
You know those trends that keep popping up year after year. The ones you’re not quite sure about at first, but then they sort of start to grow on you. Sure others might think they’re kind of kitsch or even downright tacky, but there’s just something about them that makes you smile.
Well I fall into this latter category and it seems that every time these trends circle back around I get more and more excited about them. So I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favourite finds inspired by these icons of summer.

I can’t believe eight weeks have just flown by. I had the hopes of getting a post out once a week and sometimes that would fall to two, but eight weeks people… come on. I won’t make any excuses, but I will tell you what’s been eating up some of my time.
As the end of the school year drew to a close, I set myself into overdrive trying to accomplish all the projects around the house I knew couldn’t be done with three kids underfoot. The biggest one was painting my ENTIRE MAIN FLOOR. Yes I could have hired someone and even got a quote, but painting is one of those things I can tackle and in the effort to save a little coin I took on the task myself. This weekend I’m embarking on a girls getaway with a few of my friends. We’re headed to a quaint little boutique village just a few hours north of our hometown for a couple of days of downtime. That adds up to two whole nights away from my hubby and kids to sleep in, visit the spa, eat hot meals, drink wine, talk about grown up stuff, and indulge in some serious me time. To say I’m really looking forward to this trip would be an understatement, I an downright giddy!
To help me pass the time as I countdown to departure, I thought it would be fun to put together a little “girls getaway survival kit” as a sweet little surprise for my friends and a great kick off for our trip. I’ve packed it with a few essentials and wee bit of humour to get the laughs rolling right away. Continue reading
As the temperature outdoors begins to rise I get very excited about the prospect of throwing open all the windows in the house and giving the whole place a good thorough post-winter cleanse.
Easter is a close second in our house right behind Christmas. For our littles something about the anticipation of an Easter egg hunt and a basket of goodies assembled by some mysterious long-eared furry friend gets them all giddy.
